This medication helps patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia reduce elevated total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, Apo B protein, triglycerides, and non-HDL cholesterol, and increase HDL cholesterol when taken with a dietary regimen. It is particularly suitable for those at high risk of atherosclerotic vascular diseases due to hypercholesterolemia, and medication treatment is recommended when dietary control and non-drug therapy are insufficient. Before starting this medication, other causes of dyslipidemia such as diabetes and hypothyroidism should be identified, and necessary treatments should be implemented; regular lipid testing to monitor treatment effectiveness is crucial. This medication is used to lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases and improve health through effective cholesterol control.

This medication is taken once daily, regardless of meals. The initial recommended dose for primary hypercholesterolemia is 10/5 mg daily. Precautions

This medication is composed of the active ingredients rosuvastatin and ezetimibe and is primarily used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. Prior to taking this medication, caution is necessary if there is a history of muscle problems or a high risk of rhabdomyolysis. Rhabdomyolysis is a serious condition where muscles are severely damaged, which can affect kidney function. Patients with risk factors such as severe infections, hypotension, major surgery, trauma, metabolic, and electrolyte disorders may need to temporarily stop or discontinue taking this medication. Those allergic to the components of this medication or who have severely impaired liver function, muscle disorders, pregnant or nursing women should not take it. Additionally, it is contraindicated for patients with very poor kidney function or those taking cyclosporine. This medication contains lactose, so patients with lactose intolerance or related genetic disorders should not take it. Alcoholics, patients with a history of liver disease, the elderly, and patients with hypothyroidism, who are at higher risk of myopathies, should use caution and require regular examinations according to physician guidance. If symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle cramps, muscle weakness, fatigue, fever, etc., occur during treatment, notify a doctor immediately, and if necessary, check for muscle damage through blood tests. Liver function abnormalities may occur, so liver function tests should be conducted before and during treatment, and dosage adjustments or discontinuation should be considered if liver enzyme levels rise. This medication may slightly elevate blood glucose levels; however, due to its greater cardiovascular disease preventive effects, patients requiring blood sugar management should be observed continuously. There may be interactions when taken with other medications, so especially when used with anticoagulants, fibrate drugs, some antibiotics, and antifungals, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is advised. It should not be taken during pregnancy or nursing as it may harm the fetus or infant, and women of childbearing age should take appropriate contraceptive measures during treatment. Safety in children and adolescents has not been well established, so it is not recommended. In the case of overdose, as no specific antidote exists, appropriate treatment and supportive care according to symptoms should be administered, and liver function and muscle status monitored periodically. Store this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.
