Thioctic acid is used to supply the increased demand in the body due to intense physical labor and is also effective in treating subacute necrotizing encephalomyelitis such as Leigh syndrome. It is also used to treat sensorineural hearing loss caused by drug toxicity from medications like streptomycin or ganamycin, as well as occupational noise-induced sensorineural hearing loss. However, if no effect is observed after approximately one month of administration, continued use is not recommended. This medication helps improve the specified conditions and symptoms.
