Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
In patients with essential hypertension, this medication can be used to effectively control blood pressure when monotherapy with amlodipine or telmisartan is insufficient. This helps reduce cardiovascular risks associated with hypertension and improves overall health.
The recommended dosage for adults is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with kidney impairment, dosage adjustment is not required for mild and moderate impairment; however, for severe kidney impairment, treatment should start at a lower dosage and be gradually increased. For patients with liver impairment, the daily dosage should not exceed 40 mg.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and therefore its use is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, hence it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with allergies to the active ingredients or related substances, patients with obstructive biliary diseases, severe liver impairment, severe hypotension, severe cardiac disease, or certain kidney conditions. Patients with primary aldosteronism, valvular heart disease, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal diseases, renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, and elderly individuals should exercise special caution when using this medication. Side effects such as dizziness and peripheral edema can occur frequently, and serious side effects have been reported occasionally, so immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary if unusual symptoms arise. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, patients must inform healthcare providers of all medications they are taking, particularly when used with specific cardiac medications, diuretics, and potassium supplements. For women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is safest to avoid this medication, and upon confirmation of pregnancy, it should be discontinued immediately, with consultation from a healthcare provider. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as its safety and effectiveness have not been sufficiently established. When administered to elderly patients, dosage should be adjusted, and careful monitoring is required. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and acute renal failure may occur, so it is crucial to visit a healthcare facility for appropriate treatment immediately. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and it is advisable to open the packaging only right before taking the medication.
