  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either amlodipine or telmisartan alone. It effectively lowers blood pressure, reducing the strain on the heart and blood vessels, and helps prevent complications related to hypertension. Therefore, it is useful in the management of blood pressure for patients with essential hypertension.

Precautions

This medication should be avoided during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. If pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be discontinued as soon as possible. Additionally, it should not be taken by individuals with allergies to the main ingredient or related components. It should not be administered to patients with severely impaired liver or heart function, those with hypotension, or those in cardiac shock. Nursing mothers should also avoid this medication. Caution is necessary when administering to patients with decreased kidney function or elderly patients, as hypotension may occur due to the blood pressure-lowering effect. There is a risk of increased blood potassium levels, so patients should be particularly cautious when taking potassium supplements or related medications. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while taking this medication, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery. Furthermore, because this medication may interact with other drugs, patients should inform healthcare providers of any other medications they are taking. Overdose may result in hypotension, dizziness, and decreased heart function, and immediate medical treatment is necessary. Safety and effectiveness have not been sufficiently established for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, so administration is not recommended. Store the medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to another container.
