This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of telmisartan or amlodipine. It helps effectively lower blood pressure, thereby contributing to the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. Patients with allergies to this medication's active ingredients, or those with certain heart, liver, or kidney diseases, as well as nursing mothers, should also avoid this medication. Particular caution is needed when using this medication in patients with certain heart valve diseases, reduced liver function, gastrointestinal disorders, vascular kidney problems, elderly patients, etc. Side effects such as dizziness or edema may commonly occur, and in rare cases, serious side effects have been reported. If side effects are suspected, it is important to consult with medical personnel immediately. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately and replaced with a safer treatment method. Low blood pressure, hyperkalemia, and kidney function abnormalities may occur; therefore, regular blood pressure and blood tests should be conducted, especially in patients with kidney or heart diseases. This medication can interact with other medications, so it is essential to inform medical personnel about any other medications being taken. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is necessary. In the case of overdose, severe low blood pressure or heart problems can arise; emergency treatment should be sought immediately, and treatment should be carried out appropriately depending on the symptoms. This medication is not recommended for children, and it should be stored out of reach of children.

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reaction.
  • Severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa, severe skin adverse reactions.
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties accompanied by coughing and fever.
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme general weakness, liver abnormalities (jaundice).
  • Sudden and very severe headache.

Mild side effects

Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, migraine, sensory disturbance, peripheral edema, insomnia, depression, anxiety, cough, changes in bowel habits (including diarrhea and constipation), abdominal pain, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, itching, sweating, rash, hair loss, purpura, skin discoloration, eczema, erythema, muscle cramp, joint pain, low back pain, muscle pain, nocturia, erectile dysfunction, weakness, fatigue, chest pain, malaise, elevated liver enzymes, increased serum creatinine.

Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.

Storage

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a tightly sealed container that blocks light. Additionally, to maintain the drug's effectiveness, it is best stored at a temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
