This medication is used to effectively lower and control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who do not have sufficient blood pressure control with monotherapy of telmisartan or amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once a day, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, medications of 40/5 mg, 80/5 mg, or 40/10 mg can be administered. For patients with renal impairment, mild and moderate cases do not require dosage adjustments; however, in severe cases, it is recommended to start with a lower dosage.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so the use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus, especially when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. It should not be administered to individuals with allergies to its active ingredients or certain liver diseases, heart conditions, low blood pressure, shock, and patients with unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction. Patients with poor liver function, gastrointestinal diseases, renal artery hypertension, or heart failure should exercise special caution when using this drug. Side effects such as dizziness or peripheral edema may occur frequently, and in rare cases, severe side effects such as fainting or heart problems may arise, so immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if any unusual symptoms appear. This medication should not be initiated during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued as soon as possible and switched to another safe treatment. In patients with dehydration or low sodium, low blood pressure may occur, so it is important to check the condition before taking this medication, and take appropriate action if low blood pressure arises. This medication can increase blood potassium levels, so care is needed when taking it with potassium supplements or foods containing potassium, and regular blood tests are recommended. Patients with decreased kidney function should have their kidney function and electrolyte status regularly monitored while taking this medication. Patients with heart disease may have an increased risk of angina or myocardial infarction after taking this medication, so they should be vigilant for any changes in symptoms. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while taking this medication, so caution is needed when driving or operating dangerous machinery.
