Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, particularly in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This drug should not be used by patients who are allergic to it, pregnant or breastfeeding, have severely impaired liver or heart function, or certain heart diseases. Patients with mild liver function or gastrointestinal disorders should use this medication with caution. Patients with poor kidney function, the elderly, and those with certain heart conditions should also take it carefully. Patients with severely low blood pressure or in shock, and those unstable after acute myocardial infarction should avoid this medication. Common side effects can include dizziness or peripheral edema; in severe cases, fainting or allergic reactions may occur. Due to blood pressure-lowering effects, caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, and immediate consultation with healthcare providers is required if blood pressure becomes excessively low. This medication may increase the risk of decreased kidney function or hyperkalemia when used in combination with other blood pressure-lowering drugs, so regular blood tests and monitoring of conditions are necessary. It is advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice, as it may enhance the drug's effect. In case of overdose, symptoms like low blood pressure, dizziness, and abnormal heart rhythms may occur, requiring immediate emergency treatment. This medication is not recommended for children, and the elderly must especially have dosage adjustments and careful monitoring.
