This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with telmisartan or amlodipine. Since essential hypertension can be challenging to manage, this drug helps effectively control blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this drug is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The dosage may be adjusted based on blood pressure control, with available forms of 40/5 mg, 80/5 mg, and 40/10 mg. Precautions

This drug should not be used during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious risks to the fetus. If pregnancy is confirmed, this medication should be discontinued as soon as possible. This drug should not be administered to individuals who are allergic to any of its components, pregnant or nursing women, individuals with obstructive biliary diseases, severe liver impairment, certain heart-related conditions, severe hypotension, patients in shock, post-acute myocardial infarction with unstable blood flow, and those with certain kidney diseases. Caution should be exercised when administering this drug to patients with primary aldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, liver impairment, gastrointestinal disorders, renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, elderly individuals, and those using specific antihypertensive medications. Dizziness and peripheral edema may occur commonly with this medication, and serious side effects such as syncope have been reported rarely. If blood pressure drops too low, the patient should be laid down, and fluid therapy may be necessary. Due to the risk of elevated potassium levels, patients with impaired renal function or heart failure should have regular blood tests. This drug may interact with other medications; therefore, patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist of any other medications being taken. Nursing mothers are advised not to take this drug. The safety and efficacy of this drug have not been established in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended. Elderly individuals may be more sensitive to this drug; therefore, initiation should be with a lower dose and adjusted gradually. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, abnormal heart rhythm, dizziness, and acute kidney failure may occur, and immediate medical attention is required as emergency treatment may be necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should be stored in its original packaging.
