Precautions

This medication should not be used by pregnant women, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus. This medication should be avoided in certain patients, such as those with severely impaired liver function, severe hypotension, or heart problems. Additionally, caution is necessary for patients with primary aldosteronism, certain cardiac valve diseases, liver dysfunction, gastrointestinal diseases, and renal artery hypertension when using this medication. Common side effects may include dizziness and peripheral edema; however, rarely fainting or severe allergic reactions may occur, so consult a healthcare provider immediately if symptoms arise. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued as soon as possible and alternative treatments should be considered. Hypotension may occur, so particularly patients with low fluid or salt levels should manage their condition carefully before taking the medication and monitor their blood pressure closely during use. There is a risk of increased serum potassium levels; therefore, patients at risk for hyperkalemia should have their potassium levels checked regularly with blood tests. Patients with reduced kidney function may experience further deterioration of kidney function with this medication, so kidney function should be monitored with blood tests periodically. Patients with heart disease should be cautious as this medication may increase the risk of angina or myocardial infarction. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur during medication use, so care should be taken when driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives or certain medications, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers of any other medications being taken.
