This drug is used for patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with either amlodipine or telmisartan alone. It effectively lowers blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for adults is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water irrespective of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). In patients with renal impairment, mild and moderate renal impairment do not require dosage adjustments, however, patients with severe renal impairment are advised to start at a lower dose and gradually increase. Patients with liver impairment should not exceed a daily intake of 40 mg of telmisartan.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and administration of this drug is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in pregnant women, particularly in the second and third trimesters, as it may pose a serious risk to the fetus. Once pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be discontinued immediately. Patients with hypersensitivity to this drug or certain heart, liver, or kidney conditions, as well as women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, should not take this medication. Special caution is required for patients with impaired liver or kidney function, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. Patients with other hypertension-related conditions or specific heart valve diseases should also use this drug cautiously. Side effects such as dizziness, edema, and hypotension may frequently occur, and medical consultation should be sought if symptoms occur. If blood pressure becomes too low or serious side effects are suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. This drug can interact with other medications, so patients taking other drugs must inform their doctor or pharmacist. Frequent monitoring of serum potassium levels is necessary, especially when used in combination with potassium-rich drugs or diuretics. This drug is not recommended for children as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to this medication, and caution is advised during administration. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and heart abnormalities may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original packaging.
