Precautions

This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication is contraindicated in patients with certain conditions, such as those with severely impaired liver function, severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, and unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction. Patients with primary hyperaldosteronism or aortic stenosis and hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy should use this medication cautiously, and patients with liver disease require dosage adjustments and careful monitoring. Patients with gastrointestinal disorders may experience gastrointestinal bleeding or adverse reactions when taking this medication, so caution is advised. Patients with renal artery hypertension, dialysis patients, and the elderly also require special attention when taking this medication. Side effects such as dizziness or peripheral edema may frequently occur during treatment, and more serious side effects like syncope or myocardial infarction may occur infrequently. If symptoms of hypotension develop due to excessively low blood pressure, appropriate action must be taken according to a physician's instructions. This medication may cause hyperkalemia; therefore, regular monitoring of serum potassium levels is necessary, and caution is advised when taken with potassium-sparing medications or potassium-rich foods. Additionally, this medication may affect renal function, so patients with impaired kidney function should monitor their renal status regularly through blood tests. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives or drugs, so if other medications are being taken, the physician or pharmacist should be informed. In particular, taking this medication with grapefruit juice may excessively increase its effects, so it is recommended to avoid this combination. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, treatment should be discontinued immediately. Safety and efficacy have not been adequately established for children and adolescents, so use in this population is not recommended. Caution is required when driving or operating hazardous machinery, as dizziness or drowsiness may occur during treatment. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, arrhythmia, or acute renal failure may occur, and immediate medical attention is required.
