Adult dose

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with kidney impairment, there is no need for dosage adjustment in mild and moderate cases, but severe kidney impairment patients should start at a lower dose and gradually increase. Patients with liver impairment should not exceed a daily telmisartan dose of 40 milligrams. Elderly patients should be treated with caution.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore its use is not recommended.

This medication should not be used during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, as it may cause serious problems for the fetus. Patients with allergies to the active ingredient or similar ingredients, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, nursing women, patients with severe liver disease or biliary obstruction, and those with serious heart problems should not take this medication. Patients with impaired liver function or gastrointestinal disorders, as well as those with kidney disease, need to be cautious when using this drug, and elderly patients should also be treated with caution. Common side effects like dizziness or edema may occur during the course of taking this medication, and severe side effects may occur rarely. If any abnormal symptoms appear, consult a doctor immediately. Blood pressure may drop too low, so if symptoms of hypotension occur, appropriate measures need to be taken. Regular monitoring is also important as there is a risk of increased potassium levels in the blood. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or certain medications. If you are taking other medicines, you must inform your doctor or pharmacist. This drug contains sorbitol, so patients with fructose intolerance should avoid taking it. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or heart problems may occur, so please take the prescribed dosage and visit a healthcare facility immediately if an overdose is suspected. This medication has not demonstrated safety and efficacy in children, thus its use is not recommended in pediatric patients.

Serious side effects

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough + fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urinary retention.

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a container that protects it from light. Additionally, it should be stored safely at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
