This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with telmisartan or amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take the medication at the same time each day (e.g., morning) if possible. Dosing adjustments should first be made with the individual active ingredients (telmisartan or amlodipine), and if blood pressure control is inadequate, conversion to the combination product may be considered. Available dosages are 40/5 mg, 80/5 mg, 40/10 mg, and 80/10 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and therefore the administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication should not be used during pregnancy as it can pose serious risks to the fetus, especially in the second and third trimesters. It should be discontinued as soon as pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or similar components, to pregnant or potentially pregnant women, to nursing mothers, to patients with biliary obstructive disease, severe liver impairment, certain heart-related diseases, severe hypotension, patients in shock, and patients with unstable heart failure following acute myocardial infarction. Additionally, patients with primary aldosteronism, certain heart valve diseases, liver impairment, gastrointestinal diseases, renovascular hypertension, dialysis patients, elderly patients, etc., should use this medication cautiously. Common side effects may include dizziness and peripheral edema, and serious side effects such as fainting have been reported rarely. Signs of hypotension may occur if blood pressure drops too low; in case of symptoms, the patient should be laid down immediately and seek medical attention if necessary. It is important to regularly monitor serum potassium levels and kidney function during treatment with this medication, with particular caution for patients with poor kidney function. When used in conjunction with other medications, interactions are possible, so consultation with healthcare personnel is advised, especially when taken with lithium, digoxin, warfarin, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. If pregnant or planning to become pregnant, it is recommended to switch to another antihypertensive medication that has been proven safe instead of this drug. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness when driving or operating machinery; caution is advised. In case of overdose, symptoms may include hypotension, tachycardia, dizziness, and acute kidney failure, requiring immediate medical intervention. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and open the packaging just before taking the product.

Storage

This medication is sensitive to light and should be stored in a tightly closed container that is protected from light. It should also be stored at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
