Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and neonate, especially during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, thus should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Additionally, it is contraindicated for patients with an allergic reaction to this medication or with cholestasis, severe liver dysfunction, severe hypotension, or serious heart conditions. Particular caution is needed for patients with impaired kidney function or diabetes, as well as in those with specific heart valve diseases. Dizziness and peripheral edema are common side effects, and rarely syncope or serious heart issues may occur, so if there are any unusual symptoms, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is required. As this medication lowers blood pressure, hypotension may occur, and monitoring of blood potassium levels is necessary as there is a risk of hyperkalemia. Also, this medication can affect liver and kidney function, so consulting a doctor is essential if there are any liver or kidney disorders. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or drowsiness may occur. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications or specific drugs, so it’s crucial to inform the doctor of any other medications being taken. It is advisable not to take this medication while breastfeeding, and it is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. In the event of overdose, there may be serious hypotension or heart problems, so adherence to the prescribed dosage is crucial, and emergency treatment should be sought if unusual symptoms occur. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and opened just before administration.
