Precautions

This drug can cause serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Additionally, this drug should not be administered to patients with certain health conditions, such as specific liver impairment, biliary obstructive diseases, severe hypotension, and heart disease. Particular caution should be exercised in specific patient groups before taking this drug, including those with primary aldosteronism, valve stenosis, liver impairment, gastrointestinal disorders, renal artery hypertension, renal failure, and the elderly. Common side effects such as dizziness and peripheral edema may occur, and rarely, serious cardiac issues, liver function abnormalities, and skin reactions may arise, necessitating immediate consultation with a physician if abnormal symptoms occur. As this drug lowers blood pressure, appropriate measures are needed if hypotensive symptoms appear, particularly in patients with depletion of fluids or salt. Hyperkalemia may occur, so potassium levels in the blood should be regularly monitored, and caution is required when used in conjunction with potassium supplements or medications containing potassium. Patients with reduced renal function should have their kidney function and electrolyte status frequently tested, and those with heart disease should be closely monitored for blood pressure control and symptoms. This drug may cause dizziness or drowsiness when driving or operating machinery, thus caution is advised. There may be drug interactions; therefore, patients taking other medications should inform their healthcare provider, especially when taking certain analgesics, cardiac medications, or lithium. It is advisable for breastfeeding women not to take this drug, and its use is not recommended in children as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. In case of overdose, symptoms may include blood pressure reduction, dizziness, and heart issues, requiring immediate medical treatment. Finally, this drug should be kept out of reach of children and taken as prescribed in terms of dosage and administration.
