Improvement of blood pressure in essential hypertension not controlled with telmisartan or amlodipine monotherapy
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling their blood pressure with telmisartan or amlodipine monotherapy. It helps effectively manage hypertension to stabilize blood pressure.
The recommended dose for adults is 1 tablet once a day, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Patients with renal impairment do not require dose adjustment for mild to moderate renal impairment; however, patients with severe renal impairment should start with a lower dose and gradually increase it. Patients with liver impairment should not exceed a daily dose of 40 mg. Elderly patients should adhere to regular dosing regimens.
The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established; therefore, the administration of this medication is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. It should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredients or similar components, serious liver or heart issues, hypotensive patients, nursing women, or patients with specific kidney diseases. Particular caution is required in elderly patients and those with specific heart valve diseases, liver disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, renal artery hypertension, or renal failure when using this medication. During treatment, side effects such as dizziness or swelling may frequently occur, and rarely, serious side effects may arise; if symptoms occur, immediate consultation with healthcare personnel is required. This medication should not be used during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, treatment should be stopped immediately and replaced with safer alternatives. As hypotension may occur, patients who are dehydrated or taking diuretics should carefully check their condition before taking the medication and follow medical advice. There is a risk of elevated potassium levels in the blood; caution is needed when taking potassium supplements or high-potassium foods together with this medication. Patients with impaired kidney function should regularly undergo blood tests to monitor kidney function and electrolyte status. This medication may interact with other drugs; therefore, patients taking other medications should inform their healthcare provider, especially about specific heart medications, diuretics, analgesics, and antibiotics. Dizziness or drowsiness may occur during driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, dizziness, and heart problems may occur, thus strict adherence to the prescribed dosage is essential; if overdose is suspected, immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication is not recommended for children as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established; for the elderly, dosage adjustments are recommended, and caution is advised.

This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in an opaque container. Additionally, it should be kept at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius for optimal effectiveness.
