This medication aids in effectively lowering and controlling blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy of either Telmisartan or Amlodipine.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water without regard to meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). In patients with renal impairment, there is no need for dose adjustment in mild and moderate cases, but in severe cases, treatment should start at a lower dose and be gradually increased. In patients with liver impairment, the daily dose of Telmisartan should not exceed 40 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by women who are pregnant, especially in the second and third trimesters, as it may cause serious damage to the fetus. Use of this medicine is contraindicated in patients with certain conditions. For instance, patients with allergies to this medication or similar components, severely impaired liver or heart function, pregnant women, and breastfeeding women should not use it. Caution should be exercised in administering this medication to patients with primary aldosteronism, valvular disease, impaired liver function, gastrointestinal disorders, kidney disease, elderly patients, etc. During treatment, side effects such as dizziness or edema may occur, and if symptoms are severe, consultation with a physician is advised. Due to its antihypertensive effect, symptoms of hypotension may occur; therefore, if there is a deficiency of fluids or salts, they should be replenished before taking the medication, and if symptoms of hypotension appear during treatment, immediate notification to healthcare personnel is necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so especially when taken with diuretics, potassium supplements, lithium, digoxin, etc., it is important to consult a physician and periodically check the status through blood tests. Caution is needed when driving or operating hazardous machinery due to drowsiness or dizziness. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac problems may occur, so adhering to the prescribed dosage is essential, and if abnormal symptoms occur, an immediate visit to a healthcare facility is required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and it is advisable to avoid transferring it to another container.
