Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension.
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with telmisartan or amlodipine monotherapy. In other words, when blood pressure does not sufficiently decrease with monotherapy, this medication can be used to manage blood pressure more effectively.
The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily, taken with water irrespective of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). In patients with renal impairment, treatment should begin with a lower dose if there is severe renal impairment, and the dose should be gradually increased. Patients with hepatic impairment should not exceed a daily dose of 40 mg. Elderly patients should start treatment with a lower dose and gradually increase.
The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so its use is not recommended.
This medication can pose serious risks to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredients, those with obstructive biliary disease, severe liver impairment, severe heart disease, pregnant women, or nursing mothers. Caution is necessary when using this medication in patients with impaired liver function, gastrointestinal diseases, renal artery hypertension, elderly patients, etc., and dosage adjustment or regular monitoring may be required. When taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, edema, or hypotension may occur; if symptoms are severe, immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is required. It is important to regularly check blood pressure and kidney function, as blood pressure may decrease excessively or kidney function may be affected. There may be interactions when taken with other medications, so if you are taking other medications, it is essential to inform your doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or nursing women should not take this medication, and if pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be stopped immediately and a healthcare provider consulted. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, and elderly patients should use it with caution and adjust the dosage accordingly. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, or heart problems may occur, so immediate medical attention is necessary.
