For patients with essential hypertension, if blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy of Amlodipine or Telmisartan, this medication can effectively control blood pressure. It helps lower blood pressure steadily, thereby reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications. Therefore, it is recommended as a suitable treatment option for patients with hypertension who have difficulty managing their blood pressure.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be used by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. It should not be administered to individuals with allergies to the active substance or similar components, those with severely impaired liver or heart function, severe hypotension patients, or unstable patients following acute myocardial infarction. Patients with specific conditions, such as primary aldosteronism, heart valve disease, liver disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, renal issues, and the elderly, should use this medication cautiously and follow their doctor’s instructions strictly. During treatment with this medication, side effects such as dizziness and peripheral edema may frequently occur, and serious side effects have been reported rarely. If any unusual symptoms appear, immediate consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary. This medication should not be taken during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately and replaced with other safe treatments. It can lower blood pressure suddenly, so patients at high risk of hypotension should manage their condition well before taking this medication, and if hypotensive symptoms appear, they should seek appropriate measures. There is a risk of elevated blood potassium levels, so caution is needed when used with potassium supplements or potassium-containing foods, and regular blood tests are recommended. Patients with impaired renal function should frequently monitor their kidney function while taking this medication, and there is insufficient experience with transplant patients. Patients with heart disease need to be cautious as the risk of angina or myocardial infarction may increase when taking this medication. This medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness, so caution is required when driving or operating hazardous machinery. It may interact with other medications, so especially when taken with lithium, digoxin, warfarin, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. This medication contains sorbitol, so it should be avoided by patients with fructose intolerance. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, arrhythmias, and acute kidney failure may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment. It is not recommended for children as safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age. Elderly patients may react more sensitively to this medication, so it should be started at a low dose and gradually increased.
