This drug is used to treat peripheral and central neuropathic pain in adults. It is also used as an adjunct in epilepsy patients experiencing partial seizures, regardless of the presence of secondary generalization. Additionally, it helps relieve symptoms in patients with fibromyalgia. It is effectively used for various neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

This drug is administered orally in two divided doses daily, regardless of food. 1. Neuropathic pain 1) Peripheral neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg once daily - Can be increased to 300 mg daily within 3 to 7 days - May be further increased to a maximum of 600 mg daily at intervals of 7 days 2) Central neuropathic pain - Starting dose: 150 mg once daily - After one week, 300 mg daily can be considered

Child dose

The safety and efficacy data are insufficient for children under 12 years of age and adolescents aged 12-17, so administration is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behaviors, so mood changes or abnormal behavior signs should be closely monitored during treatment. It should not be taken by those allergic to its ingredients, and patients with certain genetic metabolic disorders should avoid it. Diabetic patients may need to adjust the dosage of their blood glucose medications due to weight gain after taking this drug. If severe allergic reactions such as angioedema occur, use should be discontinued immediately, and medical advice should be sought.
