Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with bacterial, fungal, or viral skin infections, as it may worsen symptoms. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or its ingredients, or a history of allergic reactions should also avoid use. Patients with eczema of the external ear with a hole in the eardrum should avoid using this medication, as healing may be delayed. It is advised not to use in patients with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite on the skin. It is also safest for individuals with perioral dermatitis, common acne, or rosacea to refrain from using this medication. This medication is not recommended for those with itching around the anus or genital area. It should not be used in children under 2 years of age. Pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, or nursing mothers should use this medication cautiously and after consulting with a doctor. Care is also needed when using in children and the elderly due to the risk of side effects. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, and those allergic to this ingredient should exercise caution. When using this medication, skin infections may occur; if infection symptoms appear, usage should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Using this medication over a long time or over a large area may cause thinning of the skin, pigmentation changes, or side effects similar to acne, so care should be taken. If used excessively or for a prolonged period, it may affect hormonal functions in the body, and regular check-ups may be needed. Care should be taken when using near the eyes due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma, and any abnormal symptoms should be reported to a doctor immediately. It is against the principle to use this medication in cases of eczema or dermatitis accompanied by skin infections, but if it must be used, it should be utilized in conjunction with treatment for the infection. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after using this medication, it should be stopped immediately. During pregnancy, it should be avoided to use this medication over a long time or over a large area, and nursing mothers should also use it cautiously. Children have a larger skin surface area relative to their weight, which increases the risk of side effects, hence prolonged use beyond 3 weeks should be avoided. Elderly individuals are more likely to manifest side effects, therefore careful monitoring is necessary during usage. This medication is not intended for ophthalmic use and should not be used for purposes other than treatment, such as after make-up or shaving. Special usage methods such as occlusive dressings should only be conducted under a doctor’s supervision, and the affected area should be kept clean to reduce the risk of infection. It should be kept out of the reach of children to prevent accidents.
