View approved original text

This medication is used for the short-term treatment of moderate to severe facial melasma. It is important to use it in conjunction with measures to minimize sun exposure, such as sunscreen. This will effectively improve skin pigmentation.

How to apply

Adult use

Apply to the affected area once daily in the evening (at least 30 minutes before bedtime).

Precautions

This medication contains sodium metabisulfite, which can cause severe allergic reactions or asthma attacks in sensitive individuals. Additionally, it contains hydroquinone, which may lead to abnormal pigmentation of the skin; if such symptoms occur, usage must be stopped immediately. Individuals allergic to any component of this medication should avoid its use. Those with hypersensitivity or allergies to propylene glycol should use this medication with caution. Mild side effects like redness, itching, dryness, and stinging may commonly occur on the skin during use, but these are mostly mild. If severe skin irritation or allergic symptoms develop, usage should be discontinued immediately and consultation with a specialist is necessary. This medication may cause sensitivity to sunlight, so it is crucial to apply sunscreen and avoid sun exposure during use. Also, it should not be applied to mucous areas such as around the eyes, nose, and mouth; if irritation is severe, use must be discontinued. This medication can affect a fetus if used during pregnancy; therefore, women with potential for pregnancy should consult a doctor before use. Caution is also needed if breastfeeding, as this medication may affect breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children or the elderly have not been sufficiently confirmed, so it should be used according to a specialist's instructions. During use of this medication, it is advisable to avoid soaps, cosmetics, or alcohol-containing products that can dry or irritate the skin. Finally, this medication should be used exactly as prescribed by a specialist and should not be used for other purposes.
