This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in both postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Take 1 tablet of this medication orally once weekly. Food may interfere with the absorption of this medication, so take it at least 30 minutes before breakfast or at least 2 hours before or after consuming any food or beverage at any time of the day. Take it upright with a sufficient amount of pure water (170-230ml), and do not chew or suck on it. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking.

Child dose

Pediatrics: Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents have not been established.

Precautions

This drug can irritate the stomach and esophagus, which may lead to issues such as esophagitis or esophageal ulcers. It must be taken with a sufficient amount of water after ingestion, and lying down for some time after taking it should be avoided. If difficulty swallowing or symptoms such as chest pain or heartburn occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. This medication is contraindicated for patients with certain esophageal diseases or severely impaired kidney function. Additionally, it should not be used by individuals who are allergic to any of its ingredients. During treatment, it is advisable not to take other medications or foods containing calcium, magnesium, or iron together with this drug.
