This medication is used for adult patients with acute coronary syndrome, including those with unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, undergoing drug therapy, coronary interventional procedures (including stent placement), or coronary artery bypass surgery. Additionally, it helps to prevent and improve atherosclerotic symptoms in these patients, such as cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, stroke, or refractory ischemia. Furthermore, it is used to reduce the risk of stroke and thromboembolism in atrial fibrillation patients with one or more vascular risk factors, where vitamin K antagonist administration is not appropriate and the risk of bleeding is low. Therefore, this drug is effective in lowering the risk of cardiovascular events and improving patients’ health status.

Precautions

This drug may cause longer bleeding times than normal. If excessive or prolonged bleeding occurs, notify a doctor immediately. It is essential to inform both the doctor and dentist about the use of this drug before planning any surgery or starting new medications. Individuals genetically predisposed to reduced enzyme activity may experience diminished effects of this drug, thus caution is advised. Co-administration of this drug with specific other medications may increase the risk of bleeding, so such combinations are not recommended. Individuals who typically consume large amounts of alcohol should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before using this drug, as its use may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Those with an allergy to this drug or individuals with certain bleeding disorders, or severe liver or kidney dysfunction should not use this medication. Pregnant women in the late stages or nursing mothers should avoid using this drug, and its use during early or mid-pregnancy should be done cautiously under a physician’s guidance. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or a tendency to bleed must use this drug with care, and seek immediate medical attention if bleeding symptoms occur. Patients scheduled for surgery should stop taking this medication 5 to 7 days prior and resume only after bleeding has ceased. This drug may increase the risk of bleeding, so co-administration with other antiplatelet or anticoagulant medications is not recommended. Patients must monitor for gastrointestinal or bleeding symptoms, and consult a physician immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. This drug may cause allergic reactions such as skin rash, itching, or difficulty breathing; cessation of use and consultation with healthcare personnel is required if such symptoms arise. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, and caution should be exercised in elderly patients as they may exhibit adverse reactions more readily. Overdose may lead to excessive bleeding, therefore, dosage must be followed accurately, and increases should not be made without a doctor’s directive.
