This medication helps alleviate pain, ulcers, and erosion (wounds) caused by inflammation from chronic desquamative gingivitis, which is a chronic gum inflammation, and refractory stomatitis or glossitis that occurs in the oral cavity. It is used to reduce uncomfortable symptoms from inflammation and improve oral health.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area (site of disease) once to several times daily. Adjust according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with oral tuberculosis, viral, bacterial, or fungal infections. Patients who have experienced allergic reactions to this medication should also avoid use. It should not be administered to patients with syphilis, chickenpox, fungal infections, bacterial skin infections, perioral dermatitis, rosacea, or gum inflammation caused by vitamin C deficiency. Caution should be exercised in patients allergic or hypersensitive to propylene glycol. In cases of oral infections, it should be used in conjunction with antibacterial or antifungal agents, or usage should be discontinued if symptoms do not improve. There may be discomfort such as numbness or taste disturbance in the oral cavity. Rarely, allergic skin reactions may occur, and usage should be discontinued if such symptoms appear. Prolonged use may lead to adrenal suppression, skin disorders, acne, perioral dermatitis, hypertrichosis, etc., so caution is necessary. In principle, it should not be used when there are oral infections, but in cases where it is necessary, it should be used with appropriate therapeutic agents. Do not eat immediately after administration, and there may be a sense of discomfort in the application area. This medication is not suitable for ophthalmic use. Pregnant women or women of childbearing potential should use with caution as it may affect the fetus, and excessive or prolonged use should be avoided. Children or infants should be monitored during prolonged use as it may affect growth. Elderly patients should use with caution as prolonged use may lead to risks of infection, diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, cataracts, and glaucoma.
