This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, as well as for the treatment of osteoporosis in men.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of this medication orally once a week. Food can interfere with the absorption of this medication, so it should be taken at least 30 minutes before breakfast or at least 2 hours away from any food or drink intake during the day. It should be taken with a sufficient amount of pure water (170-230 mL) while sitting upright. Do not chew or suck on the tablet and do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it.

Precautions

This medication may irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa, potentially leading to issues such as esophagitis or esophageal ulcers. It is particularly important to take this medication with a sufficient amount of water and to avoid lying down for a certain time after taking it. If you experience pain or discomfort in the esophagus, you should immediately stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. Patients with esophageal abnormalities, severely impaired kidney function, or specific genetic disorders should not use this medication. It is necessary to intake adequate calcium and vitamin D while taking this medication, and other causes of osteoporosis should also be considered.
