This medication helps to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers as well as improve various symptoms due to gastritis and excess stomach acid. It alleviates gastrointestinal discomfort such as heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching. The antacid action neutralizes excessive stomach acid, rapidly relieving symptoms. This aids patients in reducing discomfort from indigestion and maintaining a comfortable daily life. Therefore, it is effectively used for gastrointestinal problems.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 g of Almagate 3 times a day, 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals, chewed orally. If necessary, an additional dose can be taken before bedtime.

Child dose

Children over 12 years of age can take 1 g of Almagate 3 times a day, 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals, chewed orally. If necessary, an additional dose can be taken before bedtime.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to this medication or its ingredients. Moreover, patients with Alzheimer's disease, hemorrhoids, fluid retention, pregnancy-induced hypertension, diarrhea, or unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding should also refrain from using this medication. During the use of this medication, it is advised not to take it concurrently with tetracycline antibiotics as the absorption of the medication may be interfered with. If you are taking other medications, consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication as it may affect the absorption or excretion of that medication. In particular, it is recommended to take this medication 2 to 3 hours apart from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), ulcer treatments, digitalis preparations, chlorpromazine, lansoprazole, prednisolone, penicillin, quinolones, and iron supplements. Those taking salicylates should be cautious as this medication may increase renal excretion. Patients with impaired kidney function are advised against the use of this medication due to the risk of magnesium or aluminum accumulation in the kidneys. Individuals with weak bodies or low phosphate intake, or those with absorption issues, should be cautious when taking this medication, as the aluminum component may reduce phosphate absorption and affect bone health when taken over a long period. Elderly patients are also advised to consult a specialist before taking this medication. Anyone experiencing symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding, such as blood in vomit or black stools, pregnant women, or those nursing should definitely consult a specialist before use. If constipation or diarrhea occurs during use or if symptoms do not improve after two weeks of use, immediately discontinue and consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication must be taken as prescribed, and if taken by children, supervision by a guardian is required. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, and store in the original container tightly closed. It is advisable to store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
