This medication is used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 tablet of this medication once a week orally. Food can interfere with the absorption of this medication, so it should be taken at least 30 minutes before breakfast or at least 2 hours before or after any food or drink during the day. When taking, remain in an upright position and take with a sufficient amount of plain water (170-230 mL). Do not chew or suck on this tablet. Avoid lying down for at least 30 minutes after taking.

Precautions

This medication may irritate the lining of the stomach and esophagus, potentially leading to issues such as esophagitis or ulcer. If pain in the throat or chest or difficulty swallowing occurs after taking this medication, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. It should be taken with a sufficient amount of water, and you should not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it. This medication should not be given to patients with delayed esophageal clearance, severe renal impairment, or certain genetic disorders.
