This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of candesartan cilexetil or amlodipine. Essential hypertension is a condition where it is difficult to maintain blood pressure within the normal range, and this medication effectively lowers blood pressure, improving cardiovascular health. Therefore, it is actively utilized in the treatment of essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible. If blood pressure control is not adequate, the dosage can be adjusted to 8/5 mg, 16/5 mg, or 16/10 mg. For patients with kidney impairment, a starting dose of 4 mg of candesartan cilexetil is recommended, and for patients with liver impairment, a starting dose of 1 daily.

Precautions

This medication is not recommended for use in children or adolescents as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established.
