Precautions

This medicine belongs to the class of alpha blockers, which work by dilating blood vessels to lower blood pressure and alleviate urinary disorders caused by prostate enlargement. This medication should not be used by patients with hypersensitivity to alpha blockers, children under 12 years old, or patients with certain genetic conditions such as lactose intolerance. Patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, a history of orthostatic hypotension or heart disease, and those allergic to any of the ingredients in this medication should exercise special caution when using this drug. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and symptoms of orthostatic hypotension due to low blood pressure may occur, especially when beginning treatment or suddenly increasing the dose. In severe cases, cardiac-related adverse reactions such as syncope or tachycardia may occur. If symptoms occur, one should immediately lie down and rest, and seek medical assistance if necessary. This medication has a blood pressure-lowering effect, so care should be taken when driving or operating dangerous machinery. Although it is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia, symptoms may be similar to those of prostate cancer, so it is essential to confirm the presence of cancer before starting treatment. Patients planning cataract surgery should inform their doctor that they are taking this medication, as it may cause intraoperative floppy iris syndrome. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, as its safety is not established, and nursing mothers should avoid use or discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Elderly patients should be started on a low dose, as the blood pressure-lowering effect may be excessive, and their condition should be monitored closely. This medication has few significant interactions with other drugs, but caution is necessary when used with other antihypertensive medications, as blood pressure may drop too low. In case of overdose, severe hypotension may occur, so immediate medical attention is required, and this drug is not removed by dialysis. When storing, keep this medication out of reach of children, and avoid transferring it to other containers, as this could affect quality.
