Chronic persistent hepatitis refers to a condition where SGPT (ALT) levels are continuously elevated in liver function tests. This disease can result in inflammation and damage to liver cells, leading to a decline in liver function, necessitating consistent management. The medication helps alleviate liver inflammation and protect liver function, thereby improving the condition.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, for adults, 1 capsule per dose, taken orally 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete bile duct obstruction. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with a genetic inability to digest lactose. Caution is advised when using this medication in patients with chronic active hepatitis or cirrhosis, those with hypokalemia, and in patients with severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcers, or gallstones. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting may occur, and rarely, abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and upper abdominal discomfort may develop. Allergic symptoms such as itching or rash may occur, and skin rashes may develop occasionally, but usually resolve with concomitant use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur; however, symptoms improve by either discontinuing the medication or using jaundice treatment agents. Occasionally, systemic fatigue or dizziness may occur. The medication should be taken according to the prescribed dosage, and if symptoms do not improve or unusual symptoms develop during long-term use, consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. It is safest to keep this medication out of the reach of children. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid taking this medication as it may harm the fetus. Care must be taken when using this medication in conjunction with oral diabetes treatments, as it may enhance the effectiveness of diabetes medications.
