Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms related to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and prevention of rebleeding maintenance therapy efficacy.
This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also effective for the treatment and prevention of recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers in patients with Helicobacter pylori infection. It helps in the short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (both non-selective and selective COX-2) and in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers. Additionally, it is widely used for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and maintenance therapy after inducing prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. It is used to improve symptoms and diseases related to various gastrointestinal disorders.
This medication must be swallowed whole with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - If necessary,
Adolescents over 12 years - Treatment of erosive reflux esophagitis: 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily.
This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic or have experienced hypersensitivity to certain ingredients. Special caution is needed for those with hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles, penicillin, or macrolide antibiotics. It should not be administered to patients taking specific cardiovascular medications or those with a history of myocardial infarction, or to nursing mothers. This medication contains the dye tartrazine; patients allergic to this ingredient should use it cautiously. During usage, various side effects such as headache, dizziness, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and skin rashes may appear, and if symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a physician is necessary. Long-term use requires regular tests such as blood tests, and there may be increased risk of fractures or hypomagnesemia, so caution is needed. This drug can interact with other medications, so if you are taking any medications, you must inform your healthcare provider. Special care is needed when used in conjunction with antiviral agents, antibiotics, or anticoagulants due to potential changes in drug concentration and risk of side effects. During pregnancy, safety has not been fully established, so it should only be used cautiously when necessary, and it is advisable to avoid use during breastfeeding. In the case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and since it is not removed by dialysis, appropriate treatment should be administered in a hospital immediately.
