This medication is used for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease, particularly for erosive reflux esophagitis, and for long-term maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It also helps relieve symptoms in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis. Additionally, it is utilized in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of duodenal ulcers with Helicobacter pylori infection and for preventing the recurrence of peptic ulcer disease. It is effective in treating and preventing symptoms and gastric ulcers related to the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Furthermore, it is used in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy after the prevention of rebleeding from gastric or duodenal ulcers. This medication helps in the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal disorders.

Dosage and Administration

  • Severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, skin and mucous membrane syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's syndrome), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS syndrome)
  • Hepatitis, liver failure with or without jaundice
  • Sudden and severe headache, seizures

Headache, dizziness, altered sensation, drowsiness, taste disorders, blurred vision, bronchospasm, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, stomatitis, gastrointestinal candidiasis, increased liver enzymes, hepatitis, dermatitis, itching, rash, hair loss, photosensitivity, fractures, arthralgia, myalgia, muscle weakness, epileptic nephritis, gynecomastia, asthenia, increased sweating, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, allergic reactions, back pain, chest pain
