Chronic persistent hepatitis is a condition characterized by persistent inflammation of the liver, with sustained elevation of SGPT levels. This condition may accompany liver cell damage and decreased function, requiring appropriate treatment to alleviate inflammation and restore liver function. The medication is used to improve symptoms of chronic hepatitis and reduce liver cell damage.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, 1 capsule for adults, orally taken 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with complete biliary obstruction. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, so it should not be administered to patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Patients with chronic active hepatitis, cirrhosis, hypokalemia, severe pancreatic disease, peptic ulcer, or gallstones should be particularly cautious when using this medication. Occasionally, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting can occur with this medication, and rarely abdominal pain, constipation, heartburn, and upper gastrointestinal discomfort may also be experienced. Furthermore, hypersensitivity reactions such as itching or rash may occasionally appear, and skin rashes may occasionally occur, although they usually resolve with the concurrent use of antihistamines. Transient jaundice may occur, but symptoms resolve upon discontinuation of the medication or with the use of jaundice treatments. Occasionally, symptoms such as general malaise or dizziness have also been reported. If symptoms do not improve or unusual symptoms occur after long-term use of this medication for up to 8 weeks, it is important to stop use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is important to store this medication in a safe place out of the reach of children. It is advisable that women who are pregnant or may become pregnant avoid using this medication, as harmful effects on the fetus have been reported in animal studies. Additionally, caution should be exercised when taken with oral diabetes medications, as the effects of the diabetes medication may be enhanced.
