This drug is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus or newborn if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to the active ingredients or similar classes of drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe renal or liver dysfunction, or those with a history of certain heart conditions or angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion may experience hypotension, so their condition should be stabilized before taking this medication, and blood pressure and condition should be closely monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels are at greater risk of further increasing potassium levels when taking this medication with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing medications and should be monitored regularly through blood tests. Patients with renal vascular problems or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation should take this medication cautiously, as there is a risk of worsening renal function, and renal function tests are necessary according to the physician's guidance. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur while taking this medication, discontinue immediately and inform healthcare personnel. Patients who have experienced heart failure or myocardial infarction should closely monitor changes in renal function and blood pressure while taking this medication, ensuring that heart failure symptoms do not worsen. Side effects such as dizziness, headaches, swelling, dyspepsia, skin rashes may occur in some patients, and if any unusual symptoms arise, consultation with a physician is recommended. Care should be taken as dizziness and fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications or specific drugs; therefore, all medications being taken should be disclosed to healthcare personnel, and regular checks of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolyte levels should be performed as necessary. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should avoid taking it as well. The safety and efficacy of this medication in patients under 18 years of age have not been adequately established, and its use is not recommended. In the event of an overdose, severe hypotension or heart problems may occur, so the prescribed dosage must be adhered to, and emergency medical attention should be sought if unusual symptoms appear.
