View approved original text

This medication is used to control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension. It also helps lower the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and cardiovascular disease mortality in patients aged 55 and older who are at high risk for cardiovascular disease, such as those with coronary artery disease or stroke, or those with high-risk diabetes. Particularly, it can be administered to patients who cannot tolerate ACE inhibitors, making it effective for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. It is actively used for hypertension management and maintaining cardiovascular health.
