This medication is used to treat high blood pressure. It acts effectively even in patients with hypertension who also have kidney disease accompanying type 2 diabetes. Thus, it helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and kidney complications related to hypertension. This medication is used to stabilize blood pressure and improve overall health.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is recommended to be taken at the same time every day, regardless of meals. 1. Hypertension - Initial and maintenance dose of 50 mg orally once daily as losartan potassium is recommended. - If the treatment effect is insufficient, the dose can be increased to a maximum of 100 mg once daily or divided into two doses. 2. Kidney disease in type 2 diabetic patients with hypertension - Generally, 50 mg once daily is administered. Blood pressure can be adjusted depending on the patient's response.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus when taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so usage should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication can interact with other antihypertensives, diuretics, potassium supplements, etc., so if other medications are being taken, healthcare professionals must be informed. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid taking this medication, and if breastfeeding is unavoidable, they must discontinue it. This medication should not be administered to children, especially those under 6 years old or those with severely impaired kidney function. While taking this medication, regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte status is necessary, and caution should be exercised for dizziness during driving or operating machinery.
