Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and neonate if taken during pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Individuals allergic to the ingredients of this medication or sulfonamide drugs, those with severe kidney or liver disease, or those with certain hereditary diseases should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume, electrolyte imbalances, liver disease, heart valve disease, or hyperkalemia should use this medication with caution. Since this medication lowers blood pressure, caution is necessary for individuals with excessively low blood pressure or cardiovascular disease. Because it contains hydrochlorothiazide, there is a risk of electrolyte imbalance, particularly hypokalemia or hypercalcemia, necessitating regular blood tests. During treatment with this medication, side effects such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, dyspepsia, respiratory infections, and others may occur, and if severe adverse effects arise, it is crucial to consult medical personnel immediately. Particular caution is needed if new skin lesions appear or if there are hypersensitivity reactions to sunlight, as there may be an increased risk of skin cancer, hence regular skin examinations are recommended. Interactions may occur if this medication is used concurrently with other antihypertensive drugs, diuretics, or potassium supplements, so patients should inform their healthcare provider of any medications they are currently taking. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use this medication; it is safe to discontinue breastfeeding during treatment. Elderly patients need careful observation during treatment due to the risk of cardiovascular complications from excessive blood pressure reduction. Symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and electrolyte imbalances may occur in case of overdose; strict adherence to dosages is necessary and any onset of unusual symptoms must be addressed immediately at a medical facility. This medication is not recommended for children, as safety and efficacy have not been established. When stored, keep this medication out of reach of children and in the original container to prevent degradation of quality or misuse. Precautions should be taken while driving or operating machinery due to potential dizziness or feelings of fatigue.
