How to take

Adult dose

For adults, the dosage of aceclofenac is 100 mg taken twice daily every 12 hours. For patients with liver impairment, the initial dosage is 100 mg per day. This medication should be taken whole and not chewed or crushed. The dosage may be adjusted according to symptoms. To minimize cardiovascular adverse reactions, it should be administered at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

Precautions

This medication should be discussed with a doctor or pharmacist before taking if the patient regularly consumes more than three alcoholic drinks per day. Taking this medication or other analgesics may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication may increase the risk to the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular systems, so patients with risk factors such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, or smoking should be cautious. The longer the dosage and duration, the greater the risk of cardiovascular disease; therefore, it should be taken for the shortest duration at the lowest effective dose. Patients with active peptic ulcers or bleeding, hypersensitivity to this medication or similar drugs, asthma, or a history of allergies should not take this medication. Patients with heart failure, severe kidney or liver impairment, women in late pregnancy or lactating, and patients with bleeding disorders should also avoid taking this medication. Patients with weak kidney function or heart failure and high blood pressure should be managed carefully according to a doctor's instructions while taking this medication. This medication can cause various side effects, such as dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbances, elevated liver enzyme levels, skin rashes, hematologic abnormalities; if any unusual symptoms appear, they should be reported to healthcare providers immediately.
