This medication is used for various muscle-related disorders such as painful muscle spasms accompanying musculoskeletal diseases, frozen shoulder syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also effective in treating stiff paralysis caused by neurological disorders. This includes various cerebrospinal diseases such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, complications after brain and spinal tumor surgery, traumatic sequelae such as spinal injuries or head trauma, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, cerebral palsy, spinocerebellar degeneration, spinal vascular disorders, and subacute spinal nerve lesions. This medication is used to relieve symptoms associated with muscle stiffness and to aid in functional recovery.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 50㎎ of eperisone hydrochloride orally three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Individuals allergic to this drug or those with severe myasthenia gravis, as well as those with hereditary lactose metabolism disorders, should not take this medication. Additionally, individuals with a history of drug allergies or liver dysfunction should use this medication cautiously. Caution is required as liver function may deteriorate. While taking this medication, various side effects may occur. Rarely, severe allergic reactions or abnormalities in liver and kidney function, as well as blood abnormalities, may occur, so symptoms should be carefully monitored. Symptoms such as skin rashes or itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain may appear, and if any unusual symptoms occur, you should consult a doctor immediately. Severe skin conditions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, so if symptoms such as fever, blisters, erythema, or stomatitis appear, the medication should be stopped immediately and medical personnel should be informed. During treatment, symptoms like weakness, dizziness, or drowsiness may arise, and it is advised to reduce or discontinue the medication in such cases. Furthermore, drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur, hence it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. If this medication is used in conjunction with similar drugs or certain muscle relaxants, side effects may develop, so it is necessary to inform the doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only use this medication if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Breastfeeding individuals should ideally avoid this medication, and if it is absolutely necessary to take it, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
