View approved original text

Urination disorders caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia mainly include difficulty in urinating or frequent urges to urinate. This medication helps alleviate these symptoms, reducing discomfort in daily life and improving urine flow. It specifically eases the tension around the bladder and prostate, facilitating smooth urination. Additionally, it helps reduce the size of the prostate, contributing to long-term symptom improvement. This medication is effectively used for the treatment of urination disorders associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have experienced allergic reactions to this medication or its components. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms, so it is advisable not to take this medication. Patients with severely impaired liver function may experience increased blood concentration of this medication, necessitating caution. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use this medication. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Patients with severely reduced kidney function should use this medication cautiously, as blood concentrations may increase. Elderly patients may respond differently to this medication due to changes in bodily functions, so caution is needed. Patients taking antihypertensive agents or PDE5 inhibitors should be cautious as interactions may increase the risk of hypotension. Particularly, concurrent use with antihypertensive agents or alpha-1 blockers may lead to orthostatic hypotension, requiring careful administration. Patients with a history of urination syncope should also use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause neurological side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and headache, so caution is needed when performing high-altitude work or driving. Due to potential blood pressure drops, fainting or loss of consciousness may occur, so if symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Liver function abnormalities or jaundice symptoms may appear, so regular monitoring of liver function is recommended. If allergic reactions, such as skin rashes, itching, or hives occur, discontinue use. Rarely, serious side effects such as priapism may occur, so if these symptoms arise, seek medical attention immediately. In case of overdose, blood pressure may fall too low, so adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage. Be vigilant about blood pressure changes when changing positions, especially moving slowly when standing up. While this medication helps alleviate the symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia, it may present symptoms similar to prostate cancer, so it is crucial to rule out cancer before consumption. Patients with sulfa drug allergies should be cautious, as allergic reactions may occur upon taking this medication. This medication should not be chewed or crushed and must be taken according to the prescribed method; particularly, capsules or sustained-release tablets are designed for slow drug release, so dosages must be followed strictly. Store in a place out of contact with children and do not transfer to another container.
