It can be administered alone while following dietary and exercise regimens, and in cases where other oral hypoglycemic agents have not been effective, it may be used in combination with sulfonylureas, metformin, or insulin. Additionally, it is important for patients with Type 2 Diabetes to also engage in nutritional counseling and, if necessary, weight loss and regular physical activity. These treatment efforts are very helpful not only for initial treatment but also for maintaining the drug's effectiveness. Therefore, this medication is used as an effective treatment to improve blood sugar control.
This medication is administered orally once a day, regardless of meals. It is started at 15 mg once a day as monotherapy and may be increased to 30 mg once a day if sufficient effect is not achieved. In combination therapy, 15 mg is also administered once a day, with a maximum recommended dose not exceeding 30 mg once a day.
