View approved original text

Patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia should be aware that this medication helps improve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia by reducing the enlarged prostate and improving urine flow. It also decreases the frequency of acute urinary retention, thereby preventing sudden urinary disturbances, and helps reduce the need for surgeries like transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. Therefore, this medication is used effectively to improve prostate-related symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. Especially, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not handle broken pieces of this medication, as it may pose potential risks to male fetuses. Patients allergic to this medication or with specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take it. Patients with liver function issues should be particularly cautious when using this medication. This medication may influence the risk of prostate cancer; therefore, men over 55 years old should undergo regular examinations. Interactions with other drugs are relatively minimal, but it is advisable to consult a doctor or pharmacist if taking other medications. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, and women who may become pregnant should exercise particular caution. Safety in children has not been confirmed, so it should not be used. Older adults can use it without special dosage adjustments, but consultation with healthcare professionals is necessary based on their condition. Furthermore, while this medication is coated to prevent contact with the active ingredient under normal handling, caution is required if it is broken or crushed.
