Pimasartan potassium is used to more effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to any of the components in this medication, specific kidney and liver diseases, biliary obstruction, severe aortic stenosis, or in a state of shock. Caution is advised when administering this medication to patients with decreased blood volume or low sodium levels, those with impaired kidney function, patients with renovascular hypertension, the elderly, and those with specific allergy histories. This medication may cause various side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, insomnia, and urinary difficulties; therefore, consult a healthcare professional if any unusual symptoms occur. Particularly, there is a risk of hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, and hyperkalemia, so regular blood pressure and blood tests should be performed to monitor the condition.
