Precautions

This medicine should not be used in certain patients. Individuals with allergic reactions to this medicine or its components should not take it. Patients with unexplained rectal bleeding should also avoid this medication. It should not be administered to patients with severe dehydration symptoms as it may be dangerous. Patients who have difficulty swallowing food or conditions such as hernia or perforation should also avoid this medication. Patients who are bedridden and at risk of aspiration should avoid taking this medicine. Patients with weak colon or bowel function, acute abdominal diseases, bowel obstruction, or stenosis may experience aggravated symptoms from this medication. Individuals with hypercalcemia or kidney stones should be cautious as this medication may worsen their condition. Patients with severe renal failure are also not suitable for this medication. In cases of severe abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting, it is advisable to refrain from using this product. Additionally, patients who need to limit calcium intake or are taking active forms of vitamin D, as well as those using cardiac glycosides, should use this medication with caution. Patients with a history of gastric surgery or low gastric acid secretion, those on dialysis, or those with mild renal failure should also exercise caution. This medication may cause allergic reactions such as rash or itching; if these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and constipation may occur, and liver function tests may show elevated results. Rarely, bowel obstruction, hypercalcemia, edema, and headaches may occur. When taking, swallow it fully with water; taking it without sufficient fluids may cause choking. If symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty swallowing, or shortness of breath occur, consult a physician or pharmacist immediately. This medication helps relieve symptoms but is not a fundamental treatment; if symptoms persist beyond 7 days of use, discontinue and consult a professional. During prolonged use, monitor for adverse reactions closely. When taking other medications, it is advisable to allow a gap of more than 2 hours to avoid interactions with this medication. Particularly, caution is needed when taken with certain antibiotics, active forms of vitamin D, calcium supplements, and cardiac glycosides. Additionally, taking this medication with acid-suppressing drugs may reduce its effectiveness. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication carefully and only when necessary, as its safety has not been fully established. The safety for pediatrics has also not been adequately established. Elderly individuals may have decreased renal function, which increases the risk of hypercalcemia, so dosage adjustment may be necessary. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in a sealed container in a cool, dry place at room temperature.
