This medication is used for patients with acute coronary syndrome, namely unstable angina or non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. It is particularly suitable for those who have undergone or are expected to undergo drug therapy, coronary intervention procedures, or coronary bypass surgery. This medication helps improve atherosclerotic symptoms such as death from cardiovascular disorders, myocardial infarction, and stroke. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of stroke and thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation who have vascular risk factors and are not suitable for vitamin K antagonist therapy with a low risk of bleeding. Therefore, this medication is effective for preventing and treating serious complications related to heart and cerebrovascular diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Administer 1 capsule once daily.

Precautions

This medication may prolong the time it takes for blood to clot, making it take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. If bleeding is severe or abnormal, you must notify your doctor immediately. Before undergoing surgery or starting a new medication, you must inform your healthcare provider that you are taking this medication. Individuals with a genetic deficiency in certain enzymes may experience reduced effectiveness of this medication and have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Also, co-administration with medications that activate certain enzymes may increase the risk of bleeding, so concomitant use should be avoided. Those who consume large amounts of alcohol daily should consult with their physician or pharmacist before taking this medication, or else gastrointestinal bleeding may occur. You should not take this medication if you are allergic to it or its ingredients, have bleeding disorders, severe liver or kidney disease, severely impaired heart function, are in late pregnancy, or are breastfeeding. Individuals with certain genetic disorders, such as lactose intolerance, should also avoid this medication. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or bleeding tendencies, or blood disorders should use this medication cautiously and seek immediate testing if bleeding symptoms develop. If surgery is planned, you should discontinue this medication 5 to 7 days prior to surgery and resume it once hemostasis is achieved. This medication may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with other antiplatelet agents or anticoagulants, so caution is advised. Patients with acute stroke or certain blood disorders should also exercise caution when taking this medication. This medication may cause various side effects including skin rash, blood abnormalities, gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, dizziness, etc., so consult with your healthcare provider if any unusual symptoms occur. During early and mid-pregnancy, it should only be taken as needed at the discretion of a doctor, and it should not be taken in late pregnancy. It is also safer not to take this medication while breastfeeding. It is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. This medication does not affect driving or operating machinery, but caution should be exercised due to the risk of bleeding. In case of overdose, the risk of bleeding may increase, so the prescribed dosage and administration should be strictly adhered to. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a sealed container at room temperature without transferring it to another container.
