This medication is used for acute non-infectious conjunctivitis and allergic keratitis characterized by severe edema and congestion. It also assists in the treatment of non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment, including anterior uveitis, keratitis, and scleritis. It is effective in relieving inflammation after strabismus surgery, cataract surgery, and glaucoma surgery. Thus, it is widely used for various eye-related inflammatory conditions and postoperative inflammation.

How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day. In adults, for the first 24-48 hours, it may be instilled every hour with 1 drop.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals allergic to specific components. Pregnant or lactating women should also avoid using this medication. Patients with eye infections, glaucoma, or dry eye should refrain from use. In particular, it should not be used by patients with corneal damage, viral, bacterial, or fungal infections, and children under the age of 2. Patients with circulatory problems or metabolic diseases such as hypertension, hyperthyroidism, and diabetes should use this medication cautiously. Additionally, patients taking certain medications or with a history of cataracts or infections need to exercise caution. Children and infants with allergic rhinitis should also be cautious when using this medication. Using this medication may cause temporary eye irritation, and prolonged use may raise intraocular pressure, necessitating regular check-ups. Moreover, allergic reactions such as eye congestion, dermatitis, and keratitis may rarely occur. Long-term use may result in serious side effects such as cataracts or corneal damage. There also exists a risk of fungal infections in the eye tissue, thus caution is advised. Delayed healing or alterations in the shape of the eye may occur, and rarely systemic side effects like headaches or insomnia may manifest. During treatment, it is best to avoid wearing soft contact lenses and not to use beyond short durations. If used for more than 2-3 days, regular monitoring of eye pressure and potential systemic side effects is warranted. Persistent corneal ulcers may suggest the possibility of a fungal infection. This medication may mask or exacerbate symptoms of eye infections, so caution is imperative. Temporary blurriness of vision may occur upon instillation, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication should not be used in conjunction with other medications that may elevate blood pressure. In particular, the concomitant use of some antidepressants or certain antiviral agents may increase the risk of side effects. In such cases, careful use under medical discretion is required, along with diligent observation for systemic effects. Safety in children and infants has not been established, hence special caution is necessary in their use. In the case of overdose, serious symptoms may occur, and immediate contact with a healthcare facility is essential. Before use, the solution should be shaken well, and it is intended for ophthalmic use only, ensuring that the tip of the container does not come into direct contact with the eye. Additionally, it should be managed to avoid contamination and not shared with others. Store this medication in a tightly sealed container, away from children, while avoiding direct sunlight. It should be stored in a cool, dry place. Transferring to other containers should be avoided to maintain the quality of the medication.
