Treatment and prevention of gastroesophageal reflux disease (reflux esophagitis, etc.), treatment and prevention of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, alleviation of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, etc.
This medication is used for long-term maintenance therapy for the treatment and prevention of reflux esophagitis due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also helpful in treating and preventing relapse of peptic ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. It is effective in the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers associated with symptoms of the upper gastrointestinal tract in patients receiving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Furthermore, it is used for maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding due to gastric ulcers or duodenal ulcers and in the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It helps in the treatment and prevention of various gastrointestinal diseases, thereby improving the health of patients.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - Possible extension of an additional 4 weeks after treatment of reflux esophagitis - Long-term maintenance therapy for prevention of relapse: 20 mg once daily - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: once daily,
Adolescents aged 12 years and older 1) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Treatment of reflux esophagitis: Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks - If esophagitis is not treated or symptoms persist, extend for an additional 4 weeks.
This medication should not be administered to certain patients. For example, patients who have allergies or hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, patients who have hypersensitivity to certain antibiotics, patients taking specific heart-related medications, nursing women, and patients with a history of myocardial infarction should not take this medication. Additionally, this medication contains a dye called Tartrazine, so patients allergic to this component should use it with caution. When taking this medication, various adverse reactions may occur. Common symptoms include headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, and vomiting, while less common cases of blood disorders, hypersensitivity reactions, hypomagnesemia, psychiatric symptoms, skin rash, and muscle pain have been reported. If any adverse reactions are suspected, consult a doctor immediately. Long-term use of this medication may require regular examinations, and there may be an increased risk of gastrointestinal infections, so if diarrhea persists, patients should inform healthcare professionals. This medication may interact with other drugs, so particularly if patients are taking certain antibiotics, antiviral agents, anticoagulants, anticonvulsants, immunosuppressants, they must inform their doctor or pharmacist. During pregnancy, the safety of this medication has not been fully established, so pregnant women should use it with caution, and nursing women should avoid taking it. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, so appropriate treatment should be provided based on symptoms, and this medication is not removed by dialysis.
