It is effective in preventing heart disease and stroke in patients with diabetes or those at high risk. It is also used to treat hyperlipidemia, lowering total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL cholesterol levels. This medication is suitable for patients with dyslipidemia that is not managed by dietary therapy, as well as for patients with certain familial hypercholesterolemia. It is also indicated for pediatric patients who meet specific criteria. This medication is used to improve cardiovascular health and reduce the risk of related diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Precautions

This medication may cause unusual muscle symptoms, so if you experience severe muscle pain or weakness, or if there is a significant increase in creatine kinase levels, you should stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor. Patients with liver dysfunction or those with elevated liver enzyme levels should not use this medication, and if symptoms of liver dysfunction occur, regular monitoring should be performed carefully. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and women who are breastfeeding should not use this medication, and women of childbearing age must use appropriate contraceptive methods while taking it.
