This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure and improve blood pressure control in patients with essential hypertension who cannot achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) whenever possible.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and therefore, its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver disease, and those with a history of certain vascular edema should not take this medication. Patients who are sodium or fluid depleted may experience hypotension, so their condition should be checked prior to use, and blood pressure should be carefully monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or those concurrently taking potassium-sparing diuretics should have their potassium levels checked frequently. Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with renal artery problems or those who have received a kidney transplant as there is a risk of renal function deterioration. If symptoms of angioedema occur, this medication should be discontinued immediately and not resumed. In patients with heart failure or those who have had a myocardial infarction, renal function changes should be closely monitored, and caution is also needed in patients with angina pectoris or heart valve disease. There may be drug interactions when used in conjunction with other antihypertensive agents, so use should be according to a doctor's instructions. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue; therefore, caution should be taken when driving or operating machinery. In the case of overdose, hypotension, tachycardia, and in severe cases, shock may occur; immediate medical attention should be sought. This medication is not recommended for pediatric patients under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. For elderly patients, the same dosage as for adults is recommended, but caution is necessary depending on their physical condition. During treatment, regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and electrolyte levels is essential, and immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary if any adverse reactions occur.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in the oral/ocular mucosa, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, asthma attack, cough with fever accompanying respiratory disturbance, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, altered urination.
